Tampere Vocal Music Festival concert series brings together Nordic chamber choirs
Expanding its duration to six days, the biennial Tampere Vocal Music Festival once again invites friends of vocal music from Finland and further away to meet in Tampere from 4 to 9 June 2019. The 2019 festival features Nordic chamber choir music in the Nordic Choir Expedition concert series with Ars Nova Copenhagen from Denmark (6 June), Det Norske Solistkor from Norway (7 June), Eric Ericsons Kammarkör from Sweden (8 June) and the Helsinki Chamber Choir from Finland (8 June).
The Contest for Vocal Ensembles, celebrating its 30th anniversary next year, is open for applications during the month of January, and registrations for the International Chorus Review are accepted from the beginning of January to the end of February. The festival programme will be published in February 2019. The artistic director of the 2019 festival is singer Tuukka Haapaniemi.
Ticket sales for the Tampere Vocal Music Festival begin with Early Bird packages: from this day to the end of January, a festival pass may be purchased for EUR 175/135, and a series ticket for the Nordic Choir Expedition concerts for EUR 50/35 (plus delivery fees from EUR 1 through lippu.fi). Also, tickets are already on sale for the Philharmonic Club for Five concert conducted by Ville Matvejeff.
